Dogma
"Dogma" is an original print created using both traditional stone and photographic plate lithography as well as an
alternative photo process called cyanotype. It was printed at The Slade School of Fine Art, University College London,
and the Honolulu Printmakers Workshop in Hawaii by the artist and took 22 separate passes to complete. “Dogma”
was originally printed for the Honolulu Contemporary Museum’s annual benefit art auction, “Contempo,” held at the
Honolulu Neiman Marcus Store. This print has a purposefully worn or deteriorated appearance in order to enhance the
impression that it represents what some may see as an antiquated or dogmatic spirituality and the struggle that dogma
brings to an increasingly secular and phenomenological world.
