Our Place in Space

“Our Place in Space” visually represents two of the most dominant aspects of our world, our ever-present sky and the Earth’s life giving oceans. The central image of this print is from a 19th century clock-work solar system. Photographed at the British Museum’s room of Antique Clocks and Mechanisms, a wonderful collection of mysterious and beautifully crafted devices from the 15th-19 centuries. This fascinating image has since been used in a number of my prints.

"Our Place in Space" was created using the processes of photo-etching and the Xerox transfer method in lithography. All plates and stones were printed by the hand of the artist at Artichoke Print Workshop in London and the Honolulu
